Genesis-5 Exhibition

　現代、西洋・東洋各国において経済から文化に到るグローバリズム化が進んで来た。20世紀後半に一般化していくデジタルテクノロジーの到来は、世界を数量化し再配置すると同時に瞬時に地球全体に情報配信する脱空間化の技術となった。

　そのような世界の価値感は一元化されてきつつあるようである。しかし世界を分断し再提示（re-presentation）することができないものがある。その場所に固有のもの（site-specific）である。では固有のものとは何か、ヴァルター・ベンヤミンの言うアウラのようなものではないのだろうか。

　阿蘇のGenesis展では火山というその地域固有の地球活動をシンボルにして自然と人工的な環境との共存を展望する。この活動はポストグローバリズムでありながら地球部族というコミュニティ創造への道でもある。

　Genesis-5ではアースアートミュージアム構想を掲げ、自然の中においては人もまた生かされているメディアである。という気付きへの試みである。

　The globalization in the range of economy and culture has progressed as the modernization has advanced in Western and Eastern countries. The arrival of digital technology which had been generalized in the late of 20th century quantifies and rearranges the world, at the same time, is the de-space technology which sends out signals for all over the world.

People are finding that such concept of value seems to be centralized. However, there is a thing that can not divide and represent the world. That is site-specific inherence. What is the site-specific inherence? I believe that it is something like the aura suggested by Walter Bendix Schönflies Benjamin.

The exhibition of Genesis shares the vision of co-existence of nature and artificial environment. This activity is post-globalization, at the same time, is the creative path to the community as world citizen.
